First Oceanias Experience – by Mercedes
With Oceania squad fast approaching, I thought it’d be a good idea to get some experiences up on the blog for us to enjoy! But especially for the newbies in the team. Bonny and I don’t want to be the only ones to write on here, we want it to be a one stop shop for lots of different ideas and stories for New Zealand skaters! (and maybe in the future some overseas skaters as well!) So to start us off, I asked my sister Mercedes to write a little about her first Oceania experience. Hope you enjoy!
Rest, Refuel, Recover and Re-think
Just got back from competing at Oceanias and it was so fun! It was my first international competition in senior but more importantly, my first competition after taking some time off to recover from my injuries. Lately I’ve been dealing with stress and anxiety so I couldn’t be happier that I didn’t let that get in the way of competing.
Nationals 2015 – Day 4
I’ve stopped skating now but I went to the gym today and trained back and chest. Was pretty chill. This of you wondering, I went to the YMCA for $5 for the whole week so pretty happy with that!
