What Skates to Buy

Artistic skates are very expensive. We try and hold off buying professional skates until we notice that the skates start holding your skater back. However, it is easier to progress through the levels if you're on good quality skates. Here's what we recommend:

Beginner Levels (Early birds to Moa)

- Impala is our preference for affordable skates under $200

- Suregrip Fame is another option which are a bit more expensive but higher quality. They're hard to come by so if you see them on a website, send them to us!

We don't recommend the plastic adjustable skates as they will slow down a skaters' progress.

Intermediate Level (Blue social to your first National Champs)

- NEW: $730 Opera Set from Skaters Edge (Edea Rondo Boot with Variant M Roll-Line Plate) with Panther professional wheels Click here

- SECOND HAND: $400-450 Opera Set depending on condition.

Please tell us if you're after second hand skates and we will let you know when some become available from our older skaters. We like to keep them in the club so please re-sell your skates within our members!

Sizing for Edea Boots

The best way to do this is with Skaters Edge at their shop in person.

You can also measure your own feet using the paper tracing method. Follow instructions here then talk to us about what size you should get
